All Kenwood caregivers (parents, guardians, etc.) are invited to join monthly PTA meetings—whether you would like to help, chime in, or just listen! A note this year, free dinner and childcare will be provided for meeting attendees. Gather in the Kenwood lunchroom at 5:30 for a light bite and then move to the Kenwood Media Center at 6 for our meeting. Childcare will be provided beginning at 6 pm in the Rec Center. Back to School Curriculum Night & Fall Family Festival
5:00 - 6:30 PM - Meet with Principal Johnson, hear about the state of the school, and attend informational sessions in your children’s classrooms about the arc of the learning year. Children encouraged to attend with their caregivers. After your classroom visits, gather on the playground for socializing, snacks and fall fun!
Woody Woodchuck’s Fun Run (1K)
Join us for Woody Woodchuck's Fun Run (1K) on Thursday, October 22nd, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Students will walk by grade level around the perimeter of Kenwood Park. Coffee & Kleenex
Kindergarten caregivers are invited to feel your feelings and make new friends! Gather in the Outdoor Classroom after drop-off. Both coffee and Kleenex are provided ;-)
Open House Ice Cream Social
Meet your teacher, drop off your school supplies, and enjoy the playground and some ice cream with friends new and old! See you there!

Field Day with Coach P!
Each grade level will have the opportunity to participate in Field Day and compete with their classmates in 4-5 events across the street at the Kenwood Park playing fields. Rain date is the following day, June 4.
Families and friends are invited to cheer on their favorite woodchucks, and we also need adult volunteers to help with set up, clean up, facilitating events, and more. If you are available, please sign up for a shift!

Spring Family Picnic!
Please save the date for our annual Kenwood Spring Picnic, Thursday, May 14 from 4:15-6 pm on the playground. There will be a FREE dinner for all students, along with their caregivers and siblings under 18, as well as fun activities, music performances from students, and much more! We hope to see you there!

Whether you're looking for beautiful annuals, native perennials, fresh herbs, or garden-ready veggies, we’ve got you covered! The plant sale will be open on Friday from 2-6 pm, Saturday from 8 am - 5 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 12 pm. But that’s not all!
Come for the plants and stay for the treats:
Friday, May 1st (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Kick off the weekend with Lil' Dippers Ice Cream Truck!
Saturday, May 2nd (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM): Grab a delicious lunch from the Tin Fish food truck (featuring smoothies, tacos, and more!).
Saturday, May 2nd (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Top off your Saturday with MN Nice Cream.

Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27
We're delighted that your kindergartener will join the Kenwood school community in the 2026-27 academic year! Please join us for Kindergarten Registration on Thursday, April 30, from 8 am to 9:15 am. This will be an opportunity for the children to spend some time in a kindergarten classroom and for their grown-ups to meet with Principal Heidi Johnson and members of the PTA. Doors will open at 8 and the program will start at 8:15. Light refreshments will be provided.
Poem in Your Pocket Day
Students are invited to choose a favorite poem to have in their pocket to share with each other throughout the day. Principal Johnson will have poems for all students to keep in their pocket as well.
